Salamanca Place and Salamanca Market - Tasmania's number ONE Lifestyle Precinct

Parliament House stands on the edge of a manicured lawn in the middle of Salamanca Place. The lawn is used by picnickers, politicians and protesters on a regular basis. A great place for a romantic stroll, but the park on the old Battery site at the far end of Salamanca Place is more private. This picture shows some of the protesters after a march in opposition to the Southwood (woodchips) venture.
