especially around Christmas, New Year and the Taste of
Tasmanian and Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race times result in
heavy bookings. If you need to stay in Hobart at this time
it is wise to book well in advance. The same goes for
airline bookings to and from Hobart. Outside the peak
period, and certainly after Easter, you can visit without
having to worry too much although occasionally conferences
may create a shortage of available rooms in some categories.
Tasmania hosts just over 7.5 million visitor nights
according to the Tasmanian Visitor Information Survey. The
annual count says a third of these nights are spent in 4 and
5 star accommodation, a third with friends family or
relatives and the rest enjoy the hospitality of the wide
range of budget accommodation across the State. |
